Nancy Marks
Los Angeles Philanthropist

Nancy Marks resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Howard. They have two adult children, Jane Hait and Andrew Marks. Mrs. Marks has had a lifelong interest in education and the arts. She received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from New York University in 1971 and a Masters Degree from Columbia University Teachers College in 1972. She directed a program for children with learning problems in Philadelphia private schools for a number of years, went on to develop her interest in portrait painting, and authored the children’s book “Just As You Are, The Story of Leon and Sam.”

Mrs. Marks serves on the board of the Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research, is a founding board member of the Paul Newman Painted Turtle Camp and is a trustee of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and The Princes Drawing School in London.

The Markses have endowed scholarships at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago, Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania.
