Chairman, Andell Inc.
Mr. Hauptman is the chairman of Andell Inc., a private investment firm and family office that he controls along with his wife, Ellen Bronfman Hauptman. Andell’s current activities are divided between direct investments in public and private companies and partnerships with top-tier investment managers around the globe. Mr. Hauptman oversees the firm’s investment, operating, sports and media businesses.
Mr. Hauptman is the owner and chairman of Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire Soccer Club and serves on the League’s Board of Governors. He also serves on the board of directors of BSN SPORTS, the largest manufacturer, marketer and distributor of sporting goods products directly to the institutional and team sports marketplace, and as chairman of Storage Mobility, the nation’s largest franchisee of Portable On Demand Storage (PODS).
He has also previously produced feature films, with credits including “State of Play,” starring Russell Crowe and “Millions,” directed by Danny Boyle.
He is chairman and co-founder of City Year Los Angeles, a national education-focused nonprofit that engages 17- to-24-year-olds for a year of full-time service in an effort to combat the drop out epidemic, and serves as a trustee of City Year’s National Board. Mr. Hauptman’s many philanthropic and civic activities include service as director of The Hauptman Family Foundation, trustee of The Charles Bronfman Prize and chairman of the Chicago Fire Foundation. He also serves on the board of the Los Angeles Fund for Public Education, The Yale University Council and on the advisory board of Grassroot Soccer.
Mr. Hauptman holds a BA in History from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard University.
